Tide is a short film from the North of Norway that explores a fathers never-ending love and concern for his daughter. It’s a sci-fi about family that plays out at the line between mountains and the sea, where the tide rolls in and out every day.
Tide was developed through the North Norwegian Film Centers talent development program called NORTH FICTION. It consisted of four workshops were three out of eight films were chosen to get funding for the production. Tide was one of these three films. As a result of this program Tide had a very short production period. From idea to completion was within a year.
It premiered at TIFF (Tromsø International Film Festival) in January 2018 and has since been screened at festivals like Miami Independent Film Festival and Lighthouse Film Festival. It received an award for best screenplay from Alaska International Film Awards.
